We have a travel trailer and have been camping a lot this summer! Like almost every weekend….
Our favorite place to camp is Jordan Lake. We go to the Crosswinds campground. It’s only $25 a night, they have late checkout, it’s on the lake, there’s a little beach, all of the sites are wooded, fire pits, and it is only 10 minutes from our house.
We also like to go to Jellystone Campground in Tabor City, NC. There are some great little ponds for fishing the sites are all concrete padded, cable tv, homemade ice cream, game room, monster dirt truck ride, and fun water slides. We went there for the first time this past spring and we took Andrew (and one of his best friends) there 4th of July weekend to also celebrate his birthday.
We have also driven to Hillsville, VA and stayed at a pretty nice Lake Ridge RV resort. It was okay. The boys loved the water slide, fishing, and the paddle boats.
We have also checked out Zooland Campground in Asheboro, NC. It was okay. This is where Andrew fell in love with fishing. He fished all day and night! There is an old raggedy putt putt golf course which Nathan used as his personal RC truck track.
Camping is relaxing and such a great way to spend time together as a family.
